Wang Qishan Meets with President Emomali Rahmon of Tajikistan

On April 28, 2019, Vice President Wang Qishan met with President Emomali Rahmon of Tajikista at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse.

Wang Qishan said that in recent years, under the promotion of the two heads of state, China-Tajikistan relations have achieved strategic upgrading and set a good example of good-neighborliness, friendship and win-win cooperation. President Xi Jinping and Mr. President have just successfully met, charting the course for the further development of bilateral relations. China and Tajikistan, linked by mountains and rivers, share common interests in safeguarding national independence and dignity, promoting economic development and maintaining social stability, and have broad consensus on jointly building the Belt and Road Initiative. The Chinese side is ready to work with the Tajik side to well implement the consensus reached by the two heads of state, continue to firmly support each other on issues concerning each other's core interests and build a China-Tajikistan community of shared security and destiny.

Emomali Rahmon congratulated on the success of the second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation. The forum scale is huge, and the actual effect is remarkable. It will have worldwide influence. As Tajikistan and China are sincere and reliable cooperative partners, Tajikistan will seize the opportunities brought by the forum to constantly push Tajikistan-China comprehensive strategic partnership to a new level.
