Li Keqiang Meets with Prime Minister Hun Sen of Cambodia

On April 28, 2019, Premier Li Keqiang met with Prime Minister Hun Sen of Cambodia at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse.

Li Keqiang expressed that China and Cambodia enjoy profound traditional friendship. As a friendly neighboring country of Cambodia, China stands ready to deepen political mutual trust with Cambodia, promote practical cooperation in all fields, jointly build the Belt and Road Initiative, work together for a community with a shared future with strategic significance, and elevate bilateral relations to a higher level. The Chinese side attaches great importance to developing relations with Cambodia, and supports Cambodia in improving self-development capability to realize diversified development. The Chinese side encourages its enterprises to invest in Cambodia, and is willing to increase imports of Cambodia's competitive farm produce. The Chinese side will firmly support the Cambodian side in hosting the Asia-Europe Meeting Summit next year.

Congratulating the Chinese side on successfully hosting the second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, Hun Sen thanked the Chinese side for the long-term and strong support and help. The Cambodian side is willing to align its Rectangular Strategy with the Belt and Road Initiative, welcomes more investment by Chinese businesses in Cambodia, and expects to work with China in building a community with a shared future.

After the meeting, Li Keqiang and Hun Sen witnessed the signing of the action plan for China-Cambodia community with a shared future and cooperation documents in production capacity, customs, trade, agriculture and other areas.
