Wang Huning Meets with President Sooronbay Jeenbekov of Kyrgyzstan

On April 26, 2019, Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and Member of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee Wang Huning met with President Sooronbay Jeenbekov of Kyrgyzstan at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse.

Wang Huning said that China and Kyrgyzstan are friendly neighbors linked by mountains and rivers. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations 27 years ago, bilateral relations have enjoyed sound and steady development. Last year, President Xi Jinping and Mr. President jointly announced the establishment of China-Kyrgyzstan comprehensive strategic partnership, opening a new chapter in bilateral cooperation. The Chinese side is willing to continue to support Kyrgyzstan's economic and social development, implement more major projects with the Kyrgyz side within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative and fully support the Kyrgyz side in well hosting the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit this year.

Sooronbay Jeenbekov said that the Kyrgyz side admires China's great achievements in development, attaches importance to China's rising international status, always gives priority to developing relations with China in its foreign policy, firmly supports the joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative and is ready to align its development strategies with the Chinese side to constantly deepen bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership.
