Wang Huning Meets with Prime Minister Hun Sen of Cambodia

On April 27, 2019, Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and Member of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee Wang Huning met with Prime Minister Hun Sen of Cambodia at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse.

Wang Huning noted that with a long history of China-Cambodia friendship, the two sides are building a community with a shared destiny with strategic significance in accordance with the crucial consensus reached by President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Hun Sen. The Chinese side will, as always, support Cambodia in safeguarding its independence, sovereignty and national dignity, and the choice of a development path in line with its own national conditions. The Chinese side is willing to join hands with the Cambodian side to build the Belt and Road Initiative, deepen cooperation in various fields, and enrich the connotation of China-Cambodia comprehensive strategic cooperation to bring more benefits to the people in both countries.

Hun Sen extended congratulations on the success of the second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, and expressed gratitude for the long-standing support and great help of the Chinese side. Cambodia is willing to step up aligning the Cambodia’s Rectangular Strategy with the Belt and Road Initiative to push for more achievements of the China-Cambodia cooperation.
