On April 19, 2019, State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi said at a briefing for Chinese and foreign media held by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that the Second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation (BRF) is of great significance in the following five aspects: the first is taking the lead in firmly supporting multilateralism; the second is keeping abreast of the times to enrich the philosophy of the principle of cooperation; the third is working together to build a network of partnerships; the fourth is being action-oriented to build a strong supporting system; and the fifth is working internally and externally to unleash the dividends of reform and opening up. We believe that by holding the second BRF, we will certainly be able to reinvigorate the spirit of the Silk Road and build broader partnerships so as to inject stronger impetus into the world economy, open up broader space for the development of all countries, and make new contributions to the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.
